I'm a Daisy

Yesterday was a very special day for Miss Kalyssa. She has been waiting very patiently to be able to have her own shining moment. For the first time, Kalyssa is a part of something that doesn’t include her sister or her brother. She has been a great supporter for both Bryanna and Travin. She cheers for Bryanna at all of her cheer events even if it’s just practice. She helps her practice her routine in the living room almost every night. She claps for Travin every Tuesday and Thursday at Karate practice and is the first one to volunteer to take him all of his gear (even his mouth guard…..).


As of October 2, 2010, Kalyssa is an official Girl Scout Daisy. The Barksdale Troop held a special Investiture Ceremony welcoming the Daisy’s into the troop. The older girls (the Brownie’s, the Junior’s, the Cadet’s, and the Senior’s) were welcomed back. It was a sweet ceremony. It was new for us. We were a part of the Brownie world in California so we are familiar with Girl Scouts; however it was neat to watch how the journey into the Girl Scout world actually begins.

I have to say that I had a very proud mommy moment. Bryanna and Travin really stepped back and let Kalyssa enjoy her moment. They were very supportive of their sister. They participated in the promise and helped sing the songs. Bryanna had a moment were she missed the world of Girl Scout’s but she let it slide and focused on her sister.

On my honor, I will try:

To help people at all times,

and to live by the Girl Scout Law.

Keep us in mind during cookie sales. It's only October, but Kalyssa is already focused on selling those yummy Girl Scout cookies :)
