Embrace the Camera: Embracing Something A Little Different

I am doing something a little different today. I know the whole idea behind Embrace the Camera is for us to capture some precious moments with our children. I usually follow all of the rules, but this week something special happened and I really wanted to share it. I am not going to spend this time completely focusing on the past because thankfully we have moved forward. However, today’s session wouldn’t mean as much if I didn’t explain just how much my son has grown in the past couple of weeks. Since his BIG move into another kindergarten classroom, he has become the Trav we all know and love so very much. My son loves school so much now that he literally bounces up and down at the dinner table every night because he is so excited to share his day with all of us.

Travin looks forward to reading to me every day. My heart completely melts every time he asks me if we can sit down so that he can read his book to me. I can't begin to express how much I cherish books and how much I love reading (yes I was the crazy pregnant girl who read to all of my babies when they were in my belly). One of my goals in life has been to instill a passion for reading and a love for books in all of my children. I can sit here today and say that I have succeeded!!! Yesterday, Trav came up to me and told me that he wanted to read Daddy his book. He was so proud of himself (as he should be). So, I couldn’t deny his small request to read Daddy a story before bed.

P.S. I wasn’t allowed to let one Thursday go by without putting a picture of me on here. So, My Jay you better have a big smile on your face right now because you know that these shots were NOT fun for me! Your daughter has a good way of making me feel guilty…..wonder where she gets that from! =)
