A New Page

I think I can call myself an avid blogger these days. I read a fellow bloggers post the other night and I have to say, I could relate to what she wrote. She wrote about how she often comes across other blogs and thinks “wow I wish I could blog like that” or “I wish I could be creative like this person.” And let me tell you, this person is pretty incredible. Every time I read her blog, I am either laughing or in tears. Her family is one amazing family that’s for sure. Anyhow, she wrote something the other day that made me smile “i may not be super creative (sure, i've got a few DIY's up my sleeve)...and i may not have the coolest clothes...i might not be the funniest...my interior design might not be the prettiest...but darn it, that's okay.”

Thanks for sharing this with me because in the end, I am who I am and I have to say, I am one lucky girl to be a part of this imperfectly perfect family of 5. After all, we are practically perfect in every way.

So, here it goes. I blog about the things that mean the most to me and well frankly my world revolves around these guys…My Favorite Bunch!

I was so excited when I finally figured out how to add page tabs to the top of our family blog. Of course Bloggers addition of the gadget made it that much easier for me to figure it out. Yes, I need the simple steps in life =) I have been working on a new page over the past couple of days. It is a work in progress so please bear with me.

I was inspired to start Surviving Deployment because of all of you. Have I mentioned lately that I have the best friends in the whole wide world? Well, in case I haven’t mentioned it recently, YOU ARE ALL THE BEST!! First let me just say that this is a very new process for me. Bry was barely talking when Jason left for Korea so we didn’t do nearly as much as we are doing now. I have received quite a few messages on how we made this and how we did that so, I decided to share our ideas with everyone. I do want to mention that I picked up a couple of ideas from my dear military friends who have had to endure the daunting deployment process. To all of you out there, you are a unique bunch with very brave souls. Your hearts understand emotions that others simply cannot comprehend. Joy, pride, sadness, loneliness, sometimes pain and above all, a love that can survive anything; these are only a few of the things that define the makings of a true American Military Family. Yes, I am PROUD to be among this group of individuals.

Anyhow, we here at the Mall household love to brainstorm. We start with one idea, add our own style, and voila, JSBKT creations appear all throughout our home. I wish I had thought of this sooner so that I could give credit to the people who have inspired me to create some of the things we have made in the past two weeks. So, a little thanks from me to you!

These little projects have helped all of us get through some rough moments. I know that we will have our good days as well as our sad days in the months ahead. My hope is that my children can use these things to help them get through the many emotions they are going to face. We would love to share our projects with you. My only request is that you please share your ideas back with us. We love to create new things. I have a closet full of crafty items that are just waiting to be utilized =)

P.S. Don't forget to check out our new page Surviving Deployment.

  1. I get blog "envy" sometimes too, but I'm getting better about it! Yay for figuring out how to use tabs, I haven't gotten that far yet so you're ahead of me! :)
