I am working on redeeming myself a little this morning. I missed that special Thursday post this week :( I guess I
should have forewarned, sorry! I did have some pictures that we managed to snap
in the midst of that 2 day blur known as a weekend but I figured you all saw
them on Facebook so I didn’t share. Now I know better and next time, that will
be my backup plan =)
Putting in classroom hours during the day, attending classes
at night, and trying to keep up with homework caught up with me a bit this
week. I thought we had that whole routine thing down but the kids keep changing
up their schedules on me. Thank goodness for dry erase calendars and
markers!!!! It’s crazy how the little changes in my schedule have set off a
domino effect for the rest of the family. Lucky for me, I have a very
supportive bunch backing me up through all of this madness!!
Quoting the great Willy Wonka,
“So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike
that. Reverse it”
Anyhow, yesterday some members of the pep squad team got the
chance to perform at the school pep rally. The girls have been working really hard
and practicing like crazy!!! This was their first “real” performance. It was
one where they were all on their own!!
NO 8th GRADE CHEERLEADERS
NO 7th & 8th GRADE DANCELINE
MEMEBERS
It was ALL about
THE 6th GRADE PEP SQUAD
Pretty big deal!! Especially if you are in 6th grade!!
There have been many moments throughout the past (almost 12
years) where I have been able to look at myself in the mirror and be proud of
the fact that I am a stay at home mom. I do have some pretty great kids after all!!! =)
Yes my kids are in school ALL DAY!
Yes I REALLY want to grow up and get a big girl job!
No it’s not an easy thing to do!
But,
Then I have moments like yesterday, where I was able to sit
in the stands and watch my daughter perform for the very first time as a middle
schooler (something she has been waiting to do since the very first day of 6th grade). I got to watch as her nerves flooded her face, her excitement bounced off of
her smile, and her pride shined through her eyes when she was finished.
Best of all, as we walked out of the school together, I got to feel her little
arms wrap around me and hear her whisper “thanks for being here for me mom”
It just doesn’t get any better than that!!!
Here is Miss Bry performing with the rest of the BPCC crew. Unfortunately
I didn’t pick the greatest seat (I was lost in a sea of 6th graders). Keep your eye on the black hat with sparkly skull.
They definitely put the "pep" in this Pep Rally!

After having the big girl job, I'll take the being able to go to assemblies, book fairs, parent lunches, and everything else any day!
