I mentioned that we attended our first air show as a family
of 5. Pretty shocking news for most, considering that we are a military family
and for the majority of Jason’s career we lived on base where we had direct
access.
When you are married to someone who doesn’t like big crowds, you tend
to skip town for events such as an air show that draws in thousands upon
thousands of people.
This year, things
were different. First, the THUNDERBIRDS were the staring act and second, we are
the proud parents of a BOY!!!!
I know I’m a little biased on this subject but I did spend 5 years living on
a Navy base and I have been surrounded by Marines and Army most of my life. Although I love
them all, I can still say without a doubt that the Air Force has the BEST
looking planes in the military =) They do after all have my favorite planes!
I was very excited to have the opportunity to be able to see
the Thunderbirds. We have been a military family for over 13 years, and I had
never seen the Thunderbirds up close. Yes I took COMPLETE ADVANTAGE of the
situation!!! Having a little boy who loves jets and is fascinated by the life
of a soldier was completely on my side!!
I’m not sure who walked out of the door with a bigger smile
that morning, Trav or mommy but by the end of the day we were all in pretty
good spirits. Trav’s new quote in life these days “when I grow up and go to the
United States Air Force….”
