How can it be that we are already through the first week of
April?!?!?! I truly planned on sharing a thing or two but apparently
time is not on my side these days!!
In case you didn’t know, we have had some very special
visitors in our home the past couple of weeks. The kids have been so excited to have some extra special one
on one time with Grampy, Grammy, and Granddad. Our last visit with Grampy and
Grammy was over Christmas and that was “like 4-ever ago”. Our last visit with
granddad was almost two years ago so, you can only imagine how long ago that
was.
I don’t know if this is a saying but it should be
A house full of grandparents makes for three extremely happy
children which in turn makes for two very content parents!
I will apologize in advance because I do have a few things
to share. I will do my best to not overwhelm but I can’t make any promises....
First
Girl Scout season is slowly coming to an end. The girls did
absolutely fabulous with cookie sales this year. THANK YOU!!! TAHNK YOU!!!
Thank you again to everyone who helped to support our troop. They all worked
really hard at meeting their goals and I think I can share that they were ALL
successful!!!
We still have a few more things planned before we finish our
year up. After all, a Girl Scouts work is never truly done. There are a lot of
things that these girls try to do in order to make the world a better place. Before
the end of the year, the girls decided that they wanted to make a special
contribution towards St. Judes and they also wanted to do something special for
our firefighters. Our St. Judes project is still in the works but, we were able
to put together a special surprise for one of the fire departments in Bossier City.
The troop worked hard to put together a basket full of yummy goodies for the
fire fighters. As a special reward, we got a personal tour around the station.
As you can see from some of the pictures, we were in the
midst of some really bad weather during our tour. Our tour was the same day
that all of those tornados hit the Dallas area. The weather left there and
headed straight towards our area. Needless to say, I wasn’t complaining when
the girls posed for their last picture!!!!
Second
Our Spring Break was last week so while most were sleeping
in this week, we got up every morning and headed out the door in order to catch
the bus. But, we aren’t complaining too much because we still get a small break
for Easter and Travin got to take part in an “egg”citing event at school. On
Thursday, the whole first grade class got to participate in a special Easter egg
hunt.
I’m not sure if the
grass was supposed to be as high as it was or not but I will say that it
provided great conditions for the egg hunt.
The only thing that would have made our day with Trav more perfect
is being able to share it with Grampy, Grammy, and Granddad. Unfortunately, I
had a lesson to teach in front of the camera so Jason and I spent some extra
time at Stockwell. The good news, we will be able to share an egg hunt with
them and with our favorite family from Texas over the weekend!!!!
