This weeks questions are:
1. With PCS moves happening every few years, do you take the time to paint and decorate your home? submitted by Life as Mrs. JPT
It’s kind of funny that this question came up because I am literally in the process of picking out paint colors for our home. I have been going back in forth for almost a year now on what exactly I want to do. We have been a military family for over 12 years. With every move, my goal is to empty the boxes as soon as possible. I have to find the perfect spot for everything and I have to get myself organized as soon as I possibly can. I have learned to unpack my belongings and have everything in its place within a matter of 1 to 2 weeks. When we moved here to Louisiana, I did the same thing. I just had to unpack and find a spot for our stuff never mind the fact that we were now homeowners. I think I have always just been in military mode...Unpack, get settled, start the new chapter in your life, be prepared for the what’s to come next!
Now I am going to start the painting process which means all of our hard work of hanging things up and finding a place for this and that is all going out the window because we have to start all over. I will admit that I am super excited to pick up the paint brush but I am not looking forward to moving things around. My Jay will be coming home to a few changes this summer (te he) =)
2. If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be? submitted by Standing By Him
The house from Growing Pains was my favorite as a kid. I like the house from Good Luck Charlie. It’s quirky just like the family that lives in it =)
3. What inspired you to start your blog? submitted by Pink Combat Boots
The whole reason I started our family blog was because we were moving away from home. In the beginning it was a way for me to keep our family and friends involved in our lives, especially our kids. I didn’t want the people I care about the most to miss out on my kids growing up.
4. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen on base? submitted by Adventures in Life
This isn’t weird just really sad. When we lived on the coast in California, I saw a dead whale that had been washed up to shore. It was horrible! I wouldn’t go near the beach for a long time.
5. Which historical figure (politician, writer, artist, scientist, actor, etc…) would you like to have dinner with? submitted by Army of Two
Gosh there are so many people that I would love to be able to share a meal or even a cup a coffee with. I would love the chance to be able to ask just a question or two I would love to understand their thought process, the chance to get to know what they were thinking or how they felt when they did the things that they did.
I have a pretty big list but I will be nice and not bore you too much with who I would love to have had the chance to meet and why =)
Here are my top 5:
- Walt Disney
- Dr. Seuss
- I’ve had the chance to meet Eric Carle, David Shannon, & Meg Cabot (which was a dream). Another author I would absolutely love to meet is Jan Brett.
- Laura Bush
- Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

I love the fridge in Good luck charlie with the chalkboard. That would be awesome to have!
ReplyDeleteI loved the house in Growing Pains too! I've been hearing some really good reviews about that Good Luck Charlie show ;) I need to watch it with my kids soon :)
