{The Journey of a Daisy}

The journey of a Daisy...

Leads to one special moment...

The moment where planting a garden meets the
Girl Scout Law.

My favorite Daisy Troop has been working really hard towards completing their journey of meeting different flowers throughout the year. They have had the opportunity to explore and create the wonderful world of flowers with each other.

Over the weekend, the troop got the chance to visit the American Rose Society Garden Center. This spectacular garden is one of the largest gardens in the United States dedicated to roses. The grounds are absolutely beautiful!! I must say, it was awfully nice to have a personal tour guide right by our side. One of our moms and a great friend of mine, works with the American Rose Society. It was really neat to hear a little insight about the gardens and the different roses that are planted there.

The girls were able to learn about roses and plants but more importantly, they were able to participate in a true hands on learning experience with gardening. Just for the record, I took a lot of mental notes!

I guess I should mention that while the girls were busy learning, the boys were busy playing =)

After all of the new things that we have learned about flowers and gardening throughout the year, it was really incredible to be able to watch the girls work together to create their own little garden, a little garden that is truly making the world a better place to live.
