I am in week 2 of my new training schedule. Did I happen to mention how challenging it can be to try to get in some running time when 3 kids are home ALL DAY LONG because of summer vacation?!?! Easy as cheesy peasy right? Uhm...not exactly but I am definitely trying my best. I did manage to get in 21 miles however, 8 miles of that was not by means of running. Something to improve on =)
Oh did I also mention that we have had some rather interesting storms here in Louisiana the past couple of days? Now don’t get me wrong the rain is much needed and I absolutely LOVE the rain. In fact before moving to the south, I lived for the days when I could run in the rain. However the notably loud rolling thunder and bright lightning bolts that shoot out across the sky have stopped my running shoes right in their tracks. I’m not afraid to admit my scardy-cat ways (ok don’t laugh to hard I was born and raised in sunny southern California after all).
As you might know, this weekend I am going to participate in my first ever virtual 5K. FUN STUFF RIGHT?!?!? I am super excited but more than that, I am loving the fact that I am meeting and learning about other runners. It’s so motivating for me!
Anyhow, I happened to be checking some stuff out tonight and look what I found...
How cute is this bib? A girl after my own heart!!! A teacher, a runner, and crafty! My favorite qualities all wrapped into one =) I seriously couldn’t let the night slip and not share because it’s just too cute!! I’m actually a little bummed it’s not a real t-shirt. I haven’t decided which day will be my 5K run but, be on the lookout for a picture with me sporting this super cute bib.
Before I say goodnight, I also wanted to give a huge congrats to my bloggie bestie who, officially started the C25K program this week. Her post (here) brought tears to my eyes. I am so proud of her and I am very excited to follow her on her journey!

OK that bib is super cute! I can see why this can be addicting - even if it's just for the cute stuff! We've had those storms here too - we usually stay inside, because you just never know where that lightening is going to strike. I like to stand in my garage and watch them.
ReplyDeleteKeep running girl! I see you have about six months to your Goofy race! Wish we could come cheer you on!!
Thanks for all the support you've been giving me in my new journey - you'll never know how much it means.
