{Dixie Maze}

Field trips are always fun and being able to tag along with my favorite 2nd grader in the whole wide world proved to be that much more exciting.

Last week I got to accompany the stellar 2nd graders from Stockwell Place as they explored the grounds that make up the legendary Dixie Maze.

We started our journey by making some butter.

Kalyssa was not very impressed with the taste.
“The kind that you buy from the store does NOT taste like this!”

We took a “hay ride” to the pumpkin field to pick some very cute pumpkins and we even got to listen to a story about how baby pumpkins are created.

Kalyssa has ALL of the details on how exactly this happens. I'm sure that if you were to ask, she would be more than willing to share!

We traveled through the corn maze (once or twice) and eventually made our way around to enjoy the activities, the animals, and even a few different pet shows.

 The Animal Show
Bonita the Dog
Please note that the following pictures were taken from a distance as I used my zoom button wisely!

 Cleopatra
(The longest python in the state of Louisiana &
the 3rd longest python in the nation)
Over 200 pounds!!!

Two of my students volunteered to help carry her!!!
YES they had to sanitize before they came near me again!

Hot chocolate or ice cream???
Kalyssa chose ice cream and then decided that 7 minutes of shaking was NOT worth the "nasty" taste of homemade ice cream. Once again, the store kind is WAY better!

Pig Races
Poor Bacon came in last place.

If you have been paying attention, then you know that this week (tonight) we will be participating in the annual Pumpkin Light Night at the school. Last year, we were new to the school and really didn't know a whole lot about anything so we didn't do much but this year, it's a whole different story!!!

Here is a preview of what's to come!

I am almost positive that we will have lots of pictures to share!!!
