You will have to bear with me over the next few days. I have
a thing or two I’d to like share but there is still a whole bunch of craziness
going on.
As most of you know, I spent last week following my Airman
around Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. Quite the experience to
say the least but one that is most definitely worth sharing so, I will be
taking my time gathering thoughts and words for that post.
Leaving the kids for the week was a bit tough on this mama.
I’ve never left the kids for more than a “weekend sleepover” with family and
during those little weekend getaways, I have always been just a short drive
away. Add that to leaving them in the midst of an extremely eventful week at school...yup,
getting on a plane that took me to another state left my stomach in knots and
my emotions a bit scattered (I haven't figured out how exactly I'm going to handle our Florida trip just yet).
Grammy and Bryanna made everything work just right
(poor Grampy was very very sick). Bryanna took over my normal morning shift and
Grammy led the way after school. A few nightly phone calls to mom and guess
what?
We ALL survived!!!
Here are a few things that Jason and I missed while we were
away.
Ella was a busy sneaky little elf this week!
Reading...Reading...And MORE Reading!
The kids unwrapped some really great books this week!!! I'm a little sad that I missed out on all of the fun.
We have 8 more nights of Christmas Countdown reading. The kids counted the books and we have 14 books under the Christmas tree waiting to be unwrapped!
It looks like we will be doubling up this week =)
We will be taking in some votes to see what our final story will be before Christmas arrives.
Any guesses?
The children survived a week without Mom and Dad but we couldn't let it all end without one very BIG surprise.
We left Wichita Falls a little early.
We spent the night with our favorite bunch in Dallas.
We drove through stormy weather early Thursday morning,
just so we could make it to the AR sock hop that both our savvy
readers were able to attend!
