{California Part 2...Desert Sun and Beachy Gloom}

We haven’t slowed down all that much since our vacation started. With so many wonderful people to visit and lots of places waiting to be explored, we’ve been trying very hard to crunch in as much family time as possible.

I know there are a few of you that have been waiting patiently to see some of the pictures from our wild adventure in the desert. Some images are a little out of the norm (for me) so brace yourselves, I know I sure did after Jason proudly thumbed through all of the pictures and videos he captured.

Remember these two faces?

As I kept myself very busy playing with new babies and a house full of kids, two brothers were hard at work planning a crazy weekend outing.

While the kids were off keeping Nana and Papa busy in Las Vegas, Jason and I were busy playing with guns, hiking through the desert, crashing quads, and just hanging out with some of our most favorite people in the whole wide world.

One day of resting up got us ready to hit the beach. The kids and I decided to take a scenic drive through some of our favorite spaces and places before meeting up with Jason and some of our very best friends.

Living in the middle of southern heat and humidity for the past couple of years has definitely sensitized me to SoCal beach weather. There was once a time when I could walk around in a t-shirt, jeans, and flip-flops on the beach on an average July day. There was once a time when I believed that the average 68-70 degree temperatures were the perfect day at the beach. Nowadays, NOT SO MUCH!!!

As the kids ran in and out of the Pacific Ocean water, I bundled myself up underneath two beach towels attempting to keep warm.
