{California...Part 1}

Just over a week ago we packed our bags, loaded down our car, and headed west.

We crossed the Louisiana state border into Texas and eventually found our way into New Mexico, Arizona, and finally into California.

We left our house at midnight (Louisiana time) on Saturday June 30^th and pulled into my parent’s driveway at 11:45 pm (California time) on Saturday June 30^th.

The drive was LONG and beyond exhausting but, the children were absolutely AMAZING and I must admit, it felt pretty great to walk into the house that will ALWAYS be our second home!!!   

The past week has been pretty incredible! Although we are still in the process of making arrangements to meet up with family and friends, we have had the opportunity to spend some much needed time with a few special people in our lives. 

I’ve been completely overcome with emotions since we’ve been back home. I’ve shed a tear or two over the past few days. I can’t explain how wonderful it has been to be surrounded by family again or how incredible it has felt to hold the new babies that have been born since we’ve been away. I can't begin to describe how happy my heart has felt or how at ease I've been simply by chatting and laughing while sitting next to my family. I won’t go into the sappiness of all my emotions but I will say that it’s a bit overwhelming when you fully understand just how much you have missed.

Needless to say, I have been a bit camera happy since we’ve been here. So much so, that I’ve been labeled the “dam* tourist” by a few of my favorite people. I promise not to overload the blog with millions of pictures but only because I pinky promised to share a few on Facebook. Apparently there is this really cool tag button that people like to use on there so, I guess being that “dam* tourist” has a few perks!!!

Okay so maybe I am a little camera happy but can you seriously blame me?!?!?! 

These pictures aren't even close to half of what I have gone through. I tried to pick a few of my favorites but there are still more I would like to share.
