The last day of the year is one of my favorite days.
I love to
take a step back and reflect on all of the happenings that have taken place. I
love to see how much my children have grown as individuals and how we have
grown as a family of 5. I’m not one for resolutions, but I do like to set goals for myself and since I’m a bit competitive with myself, I like to see just
how many personal goals I accomplished over the course of a year.
Over the past week, I
have searched deep within myself. I have asked myself questions. I have thought
about what changes I can make within myself in order to become a better person.
Mother Nature was very kind to me this morning. She must
have known just how much I would need a good run! Instead of battling temperatures
in the low to mid 20’s, I was welcomed by a "warm" 41 degrees start to the day.
My 6.5 mile run was consumed by thoughts of how to make 2013 even better than
2012.
Sadly, the excitement I felt this morning quickly faded when
Jason and I took our Millie girl to the vet. I am not ready to share the
details just yet. My sadness runs deep and my emotions are a bit raw. However
as I sit with my beautiful pup, I am reminded that I can’t let the sadness I
have in my heart consume my whole world.
I have very few words to share on this last
day of twenty twelve but I have a lot of wonderful memories and so much to be
grateful for.
