I must admit, I’m not nearly as prepared as I had hoped to
be. Working full-time, going to school full-time, and being a full-time mommy
to 3 kids has stretched me farther than I ever thought possible. Although I
stayed consistent on my daily runs (waking up at 4:30 in the morning), I lacked
when it came to logging in the extra long miles. With that being said, I am extremely
grateful that this is a fun run and not one where I actually care about my time
(okay maybe I do just a little (=)
Running 40 miles for fun...say what???
Sounds INSANE!!!
But so true!!
There are only 2 goals I have set for myself:
Have the MOST fun ever!!
Take as many pictures as I possibly can!!!
Oh and hopefully beat my time from last year.
(That would be
my competitive against myself side speaking)
The memories that I have from the first Goofy are ones that
can never be taken away and I am beyond excited to create new ones!! If you’d like a recap, you can read all about them here,
here, and here.
If you don’t keep up with RunDisney then let me share that
this year the WDW Marathon weekend event is extra special. This year marks the 20th
anniversary of the marathon. You know what that means, the BLING is extra
special.
Here is a sneak peek at what I hope to walk away with this
year.

They even changed the course up a little.

I know I just got you completely pumped up to lace your own
running shoes and if you are one of my very dear Cali friends or beloved family
members, I have a challenge for you. I have set some pretty high running goals
for myself for 2013. The biggest challenge I am participating in is to complete
13 in 2013.

Long story short, my goal is to
complete 13 different running events by December 31, 2013. By doing this, I
also hope to be able to log in 1013 running miles! The tracking started
yesterday with my first official race of year.
Moving on to the challenge, one of my ultimate running goals
is to earn the Coast to Coast medal.

In order to earn the Coast to Coast medal, you
must run a race at Disneyland and a race at Disney World in the same calendar
year. As I mentioned, Jason and I will be participating in the Goofy Race in
just 10 short days!! Our plan is to sign up for the ½ marathon at Disneyland in
August. Here is the bonus, this year Disneyland will host the first ever inaugural
10K. The newest runDisney running challenge is to complete the 10K and the world’s
happiest half marathon race also known as the Dumbo Double Dare.
How awesome is
that??? Disneyland is where the running magic all began for me so I am pretty
excited to be able to attempt to accomplish one of my ultimate running goals at my most
favorite place in the whole wide world!! So my Cali compadres, I am asking you
to join me this year at the Disneyland start line!!! Just a little side note, registration
will open on January 22nd. Last year the race sold out in 34 days!!! Luckily for
us, we will get to sign up when we are in Florida and believe me when I say
that I won’t be missing the sign-ups for this race!!!
The Race Is ON!!!!

Seriously this is something I could get excited about. I just started running. I've never been a runner, in fact I don't like it at all. LOL. My neighbor is amazing, my freaking hero. She just did the Marine Corp Marathon here in DC. She inspired me, and my amazing running hubby. So I'm doing couch to 5k. It feels lame but its somewhere to start.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and entering my giveaway btw.
