Embrace the Camera: February 3rd

Tomorrow can’t seem to come fast enough for 3 anxious little bodies. As a special treat for the big book fair kick-off, the school is hosting a "dress-up like your favorite book character day". The kids are so excited to participate in this event. They have been planning for this day for 2 weeks. I seriously think this has been more exciting than preparing for Halloween. =)

Anyhow, my Bry had this “genius” idea that we should take some pictures of how we seem to be spending most of our days since daddy left. We spend a lot of our time crafting these days and this past week was no exception. This week we sat down together to try to figure out how to make some fancy wear for Friday’s Character Dress-Up Day.

There were a few rules that had to be followed:

  1. The character CANNOT be in a movie unless the book came first.
  2. The whole idea behind the costume is to be creative. Since this past week was all about recycling, the costumes had to be made from things that we already had at home.
One of Kalyssa’s definitions last week was recycle. She was very adamant about “using old things to make new things.” I do believe she might be following in her big sister’s footsteps. I guess I will know for sure if peace signs start floating around in her room too. =)

The final masterpiece for each “recycled creation” is only a day away……

Happy Thursday!!
