This week I ventured into the wonderful world of painting.
Here is a quick recap:
The last time I painted a room I was 8 months pregnant with my now 11 year old. Needless to say, I failed to remember the exact details the lead into the painting process.
Being that I am the ever so clever one of the family, I decided to tackle this project while Jason is deployed.
WARNING!!!
DEPLOYMENT BRAIN THINKING IN PROCESS!
PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
Don’t ask me what I was thinking. I blame my actions on my malfunctioned deployment brain. I don’t know if others suffer from this condition but in my case, this brain doesn’t function at its full capacity. It doesn’t think clearly or logically and, it often talks itself into doing things simply because no one else is going to do it.
Deployment brain kicked in full gear this past week.
My Mission: Paint 3 Bedrooms and 1 Bathroom.
This past week I spent more time at the Home Depot than I ever have in my life. I don’t know if my husband would be upset that he wasn’t with me or incredibly proud to know that his wife was browsing the aisles of one of his favorite stores without complaining.
Paint stirred, supplies ready to go, room completely prepped.

Green with Envy
~Final Results~
(well almost, we still have a few more things to hang up and half of a ceiling to paint)
Things I have leaned so far:
- Prepping a room has to be the worst and longest part of the painting process.
- Wait I lied, painting a ceiling is the WORST part of the painting process!
- If you decided to paint, do it before the blinds are installed.
- 11 year olds can be very useful. USE THEM!!!!
- 11 year olds are still kids so be cautious as to what jobs you give them.
- Don’t paint while your husband is deployed!
- When you tell your husband who is deployed that you will finish the painting process when he gets home, DON’T let him convince you that the house looks great the way that it is (sorry babe we will get to paint together when you get home).
One bedroom and one bathroom to go before my mission is complete. Guess what I will be doing next week?
Happy Thursday!!!

Happy Thursday!!!

I love that green in Kaylissa's room. It all looks really great. You need to come here - I still have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen to do!
