As most of you know, I was absent from the running world for
about 5 weeks. LONGEST 5 WEEKS EVER!!! I can’t explain how much I missed my
daily runs. Have you ever heard others talk about how running can change the
course of one’s day and even their mood or how running is therapeutic, soothing,
and sometimes even serene? Those are just a few of the feelings I missed! I missed waking
up in the morning, lacing up my shoes, and venturing into the world around me.
I missed that feeling that I got after each run where I was excited to face my
day, eager to see what was in store for me. Running has given me an inner strength
to tackle things head on, a confidence in knowing that I can handle my own.
A few months ago, I found this great blog. LOTS OF RUNNING
INPIRATION going on!!!! The writer, Ms. K hosted a series of virtual 5k’s for
the holiday season. You may remember my participation as Batman’s sidekick in
the Halloween 5k back in October. I was so excited to be able to partake in
these events. You all know the story by now and sadly, I had to rest my foot
for awhile.
BUT...
I healed just in time for the final race of the series!!!
The extra perks (there are a few)
I was able to RUN a full 5k!!!
My last run of 2011 was a 5k!!!
I was able to run this race with a few of my favorite people
in the whole wide world!!
Best of all...
Although my legs are a little sore,
I am feeling strong and
ready to tackle running in 2012!!!
