As most of you know, I am not one for resolutions. I do however like to set personal goals for
myself especially when it comes to running.
I was asked by a dear friend of mine to share some special 2013 running
moments and my running hopes for 2014.
At the beginning of 2013, I signed myself up for the 13 in
13 running challenge. I was hopeful that
I would be able to end the year with 13 races under my belt. By mid-year, I wasn’t sure that I would reach
my goal. Between work, school, and three
very active children, finding the time and energy to run was challenging; racing
seemed almost impossible.
I admit that I lost track of my weekly mileage. Sadly, I am not sure how many miles I logged
in over the course of the year. All I know
is that I set my alarm for 4:30 am on the weekdays and 6:30 am on the weekends. There were times when I could not get out of
bed from lack of sleep and other times when that 4:30 am run changed the whole
course of my day.

It took me some time to figure it out. I had to go back and search through my iPod
in order to find the races I completed in 2013.
This is a first for me. I am writing this post without knowing the final outcome.
Here it goes, my 2013 races:
